Unable to play multi-player

I just noticed that there is only single player mode and my friends who bought their’s not from app store had multiplayer as well, so are you trying to tell me i wasted my $49.99 for nothing. I hope that the app store can fix this problem asap. Plus when my friend’s buy theirs on other places such as steam, it includes multiplayer options.
